I make no secret of this, but I am a huge fan of Denis Villeneuve. I’m a fan of the way he makes his films but that also makes a bit more critical of his work. He is in the process of post-production of Blade Runner: 2049. He has the daunting task of being the sequel to such an iconic Sci-Fi film.
Many details about the plot and the characters being kept under wraps ever since the start of production. But now EW has released a behind the scenes featurette that takes a dive into where going from the original Blade Runner. The video features Denis Villeneuve, Ridley Scott, Roger Deakins, Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, Jared Leto and much more. The featurette takes a dive into the production design and the visual effects of the film and how they have evolved from the original. There is a ton of new footage to digest, so let’s take a look.
Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
